Reviews and Ratings
The hotel offers spacious rooms that are extremely clean, comfortable, and quiet with a separate lounge and dining area overlooking the local footy ground. The service was lovely and very helpful, creating a homey atmosphere. Situated in a great location on the main street with beautiful park views, it provided a peaceful stay and a good night's sleep. However, the dining options were poor, and the breakfast could be improved.
The hotel offers a mix of old and modern rooms; the Matthews Suite upstairs was lovely and modern with a very comfortable bed. Service is a bit of a mixed bag, with some staff being lovely and helpful while others seem overwhelmed during peak periods. The location is great, right on the main street and opposite a beautiful park. Dining options are diverse, with the hotel offering options to cook your own breakfast. Facilities are decent, with a nice king bed and spa. However, there might be noise issues in some areas and inconsistent service.
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms, in particular, the gaming room, open from 10 am to 4 am, and the Matthew's suite, matched the photo description on the booking site, providing a comfortable stay. However, there were some surprising elements like having to walk through a pub and customers to reach the bar, which was not indicated in the advertising. The location was conveniently placed between Adelaide and Melbourne, offering opportunities for food experiences, but booking in required going down to the hotel casino. The dining options, including access to a communal kitchen with well-stocked supplies, were diverse, but the wood-fired pizza was a standout. Service was satisfactory, with staff members taking us to our renovated modern trendy room after a quick phone call, ensuring a quiet, relaxing weekend.
